Located in the heart of the Macedonian biggest Forest-wood resource area, and surrounded by serene natural mountain beauty, the production facilities of Lesnina InzeneringPanels covers 55.000m2 of land.
The production plant consists of 4 main parts:
Sawmill,
Drying / Steaming,
Production and Quality Control,
Side Products.
The production process starts by processing of the logs in the sawmills. After that, the wood is technically dried in most sophisticated, computer guided kiln dryers that brings the moisture to 10% (+/- 2%) which corresponds to the equilibrium moisture content in closed rooms with a healthy living comfort. After cut to size, the lamellas are sorted professionally, with respect to their color and desired quality of the panels. The wood comes in steamed (standard steaming – 20h), lightly steamed and un-steamed. We try to minimize the disproportion caused by the natural alterations of color, structure of the wood and the tree's growth and direction of cutting.
The process continues with careful and proper gluing of the lamellas, by using only qualified and branded glue - class D3, according to EN 204. It allows the wood to preserve its natural characteristics and minimizes the reaction of swelling and shrinkage of the panels. The whole process of production, from cut to size to gluing and finishing of the panels is done through semi-to-fully automatic computerized machines.
Annually we process around 10.000m3 of logs, in order to produce 2.400m3 of beech wood panels. However, we are continuously working on improvement of the systematization of the production process, with intention and possibility to increase the capacity to 300m3 / month, using the existing recourses, and with plans for doubling the capacity in the future.
